MY HISTORY
Well, . . . I like to think that I'm too young to have much of a history but, alas - I started working with youth when I was just a teen. I volunteered with Child Evangelism Fellowship helping with Vacation Bible Schools in back yards. I am happy to say that I have been allowed to continue working with little ones through VBS still. Some things stick with us.
As an adult I had the privilege of teaching religious education (CCD) to a variety of ages and grades. Most satisfying was helping lead my own daughter and son on their faith journey with my husband by my side.
As we age we find our true charism and mine is as a Lay Dominican - a member of the Order of Preachers - who would have known. haha. My mother would tell you that this isn't a surprise since I started talking early and haven't stopped since. The Lay Dominicans are about more than this as we "Contemplate and share the fruits of our contemplation" in community and with all we meet whether that be in the grocery store, parish or prison.
In my spare time I teach an adult formation class on various topics within our precious Roman Catholic tradition, theology and faith practices.
All of this to say that I am truly blessed! Life is good!
